I’m always on the hunt for new makeup, and foundation is the product that I alternate most frequently. Don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely in love with the Clinique foundation I’ve been using recently. But sadly it just doesn’t agree with my combination skin.
Whilst my forehead is always quite dry – no matter HOW many times I moisturise it – the rest of my face remains relatively oily. I’ve stepped up my skin care routine massively in the last few months, but unfortunately the damage has already been done – and it’s going to take more than a few weeks of extreme TLC to get my skin back to its old self.
Having read review after review on the Bare Minerals products, alongside chatting to friends that swear by the brand, I knew I had to give it a go. I popped into town for a Nandos with friends the other night, but made time to stop by Boots beforehand so that I could see for myself if their foundations were as good as everybody had said.
As the beautician colour matched my skin to the Bare Minerals Ready SPF20 foundation, I had a pretty good feeling I was going to love it! The texture and coverage, despite being a different type of foundation, left a perfect matte finish. Initially I was apprehensive of using powder foundations as I’d read reviews about the fact they clog up your pours and appear cakey, though using the ‘less is more’ technique is the way to go with this product.
I’ve been using this foundation for the past few days now and I absolutely love it! You need so little of it that I have a feeling it’ll last me a fair while. The best part is, I often end up wearing my makeup to the gym – but with this foundation being mineral based, I no longer need to worry quite so much about how badly it’s affecting my skin.
Next on my list of must haves is their Complexion Rescue… roll on my next payday!
