Although a bronzed complexion isn’t for everyone, it’s definitely for me. For some reason, I feel far more confident and comfortable in my own skin when I have a tan. As you may have read in my post reviewing the Vita Coco Coconut Oil, when I get a natural tan it ends up patchy due to a skin condition. I used to tan amazingly well when I was younger, but the older I get the worse my natural tan seems to be! Also, living in England means that a natural tan without going abroad is pretty much non-existent, so my annual week away is the only chance I’ve got to turn myself into a sun soaked beach goddess (ha – serious exaggeration there).

All year round I like to keep a bit of colour, which is why I’ve been using fake tan at home for the past couple of years. I’ve never used a sunbed as I’m scared of what it might do to my skin/health, so using fake tan mousses and creams were the next best thing. For the past year I’ve been using the St Tropez Bronzing Mousse which was a great self tanner, though the smell of rusty biscuit tin became a bit much. Having heard that Australia’s best fake tan, Bondi Sands, was now being stocked in Superdrug stores, I couldn’t resist.

I bought the Bondi Sands Dark Foam and I can happily say I am absolutely amazed with the results! I’ve been smothering myself in it twice a week and each time I’m left with a natural, even and glowing tan. Considering I’m not great at applying it evenly, it always ends up looking like I’ve spent a few days on a Caribbean beach (well, I can only dream). Admittedly, once you wash it off after a minimum of six hours (I leave mine overnight), a fair amount of it trickles down the drain. Though if you had a particular occasion coming up where you wanted to be as tanned as possible, you could always top it up with the Bondi Sands Wash Off Dark tan. My next purchase will be the Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Tanning Milk, in the hope that I’ll have a gorgeous glow all year round.

I really don’t have one bad thing to say about this product, and the fact that it smells like coconuts whilst applying it (and for quite a while after too), makes it an absolute winner. I am crazily pleased that the Bondi Sands collection is now available in the UK, my prayers have finally been answered!
