Looking after my skin is something I’ve always done, however admittedly not to the standard I probably should have. Everything’s been pretty crazy recently with the move so I hadn’t noticed quite how bad my skin had got until a week or so ago, so I quickly took to the internet to find out what I could do to get my skin back to its previous healthy state. To be fair my skin’s never been perfect, or even close to it, but lately its become increasingly porous and my makeup seems to almost slip off after a few hours, which is something that makes me seriously uncomfortable.

I read endless reviews of more affordable ranges that you can find in drugstores, though I felt tempted to splash out a little and treat myself to something which was really worth shouting about. A few girls suggested Kiehls, which isn’t a brand I’d heard of before, but after a quick look at their products online I somehow quickly ended up with £80 worth of skin care in my shopping basket. All I can say is thank god for their recent 20% off sale!

Cleanser is my biggest go to skin care product, so I knew this was the first product I wanted to buy. After speaking to the lovely lady on the online chat, based on my skin type she suggested that I give the Rare Earth collection a go. The thought of cleaning out my pores and being left with a squeaky clean complexion is what I’ve been desperate for, and I’m extremely pleased that their Deep Pore Daily Cleanser does exactly that. I’m not going to lie, I was a little apprehensive as to whether this cleanser would work as quickly as the reviews suggested, but I’m three applications in so far and I’m not kidding when I say my pores are way smaller and less noticeable. What I love is that it has tiny little rough particles in its consistency which really makes your skin feel incredible, so I can’t wait to see what this cleanser can do for me over the course of the upcoming months!

What is a skin care routine without a moisturiser? I’ve been using an Olay one for a few months which I love, but as Kiehls offer this Pore Minimizing Lotion as part of their Rare Earth line, I had to give it a go. First impressions were a bit odd as it came out as a runny liquid, but after a few pumps it turned into a lovely cream that felt somewhat similar to the cleanser. I don’t feel as though it gives me the same level of moisture as my Olay one, but I have a feeling this really is contributing to my reduced pores, so I’ll be sticking with it for now!

I’ve never ever used eye cream, but since I’ve been applying concealer under my eyes I’ve noticed just how dry and tired they are. The 14ml version of their Creamy Eye Treatment might just be the world’s smallest pot, but you really do only need the tiniest amount for each application. The fact that this product has avocado in it makes me even happier, as surely that’s bound to help my skin appear more nourished and hydrated!

As much as I wanted to splash out on the toner as well, I had to call it a day with the spending, but as I’m so impressed with their products so far I have no doubt that I’ll be taking advantage of the fact Milton Keynes is getting its very own Kiehls store very soon!

Kiehls actually give away three samples of a selection of their products for you to try before you buy, which I love, so I ordered their Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream and Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate, because why not target those dreaded wrinkles early right, along with their Midnight Recovery Concentrate, which I’ve heard amazing things about and cannot wait to try!

Let me know what Kiehls product you love on Twitter, FacebookInstagram, or in the comments below!
