Ok, so whilst the products in this post are my winter makeup must haves, they were also my holiday makeup must haves. I’ve been wearing most of these products on my face since the beginning of November, along with a few of my existing favourite products, and I genuinely can’t see myself drastically changing it up any time soon.

For our holiday I desperately wanted dewy, tanned and moisturised skin, with long, waterproof lashes and a bronzed glow. With these products, I totally got that, and I’m so glad I splashed out a bit to get them. The only change I’ve made as a transition to my “winter face” is the addition of the lip liner and lipstick, because everyone needs a bit of colour about them when its cold and gloomy out!

Olay Firm & Lift Anti-Wrinkle Booster/Firming Serum

I never used to use moisturiser or serum, but clearly I was missing out. This moisturiser by Olay is now the most key point in my makeup routine that takes place every single day, without fail. It’s an absolute god send, as not only is it a brilliant moisturiser – but it’s essentially a primer too. It has the most incredible texture, and I really do believe that it hold my makeup on for longer!

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

As I didn’t want to wear much foundation (if any) on holiday, my only other option was a good tinted moisturiser. I tried and tested a few in Boots, but I completely fell in love with this beauty from Bare Minerals. I won’t lie, I looked like a right prat in Boots when I literally walked away from the lady, post colour match, when she told me it was £26. To some that’s nothing, but I’m pretty precious when it comes to money and I have to seriously over think a purchase before I jump into it. But oh my goodness, what a good decision I made. This is liquid gold. It has the most gorgeous, cooling gel-like texture and feel, whilst the bronzed colour makes my skin look like I have the most natural tan. And knowing that it’s completely ok for my face, with it being packed full of minerals and SPF 30, makes it one hundred times better. This is now my absolute essential base coat for my makeup, and sometimes I even skip using my Bare Minerals Powder Foundation on top.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara

For me, no mascara is like forgetting to get dressed, so even on holiday there was no way I could go without it. Again, I bought this Maybelline Mascara for our holiday as I wanted a good waterproof one. Guys, I am not kidding when I say it does what it says on the bottle. I spent the majority of our 28 days abroad submerged in water for at least part of the day – and this product did not let me down. Ok yes, it did smudge a little when I was surfing but that’s only because I kept rubbing my eyes to try to get the salt water out. On a normal day, a dip in the pool or a swim in the sea will not make this run down your face. So fear not if you’re caught out by a wintry rain shower, because you won’t suffer those dreaded panda eyes. Maybelline, you did good.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I’ve been using this one by Benefit for about two years now, simply because I just love the way that it blends into my skin leaving a gorgeous glow. It’s the perfect shade which never appears heavy, making it ideal for when I’m applying it in poor lighting (aka, November-January). I have a few others dotted around my bedroom, but this is always the winner. Though I won’t lie, I’m really tempted to try one of the Bobbi Brown ones as the Shimmer Bricks are stunning…

MAC Stripdown Lip Pencil & Naturally Transformed Lipstick

I don’t wear this duo unless I’m going “out out”, but this MAC Liner and Lipstick is the perfect colour combo for the festive period. I’m seriously into my matte, deep shades right now and these products are exactly what I’d hoped they’d be and more. I could easily spend hundreds of pounds at that counter. I have so many more that I want to buy…

And there we have it! Let me know if you’ve ever tried out any of these products, or please go ahead and suggest some new ones for me to try out…
