Apart from briefly passing through the Birmingham and London Christmas Markets in the past, from what I remember I’ve never dedicated a day to spend at a proper Christmas market. With this year being our first Christmas in our new home, I’ve gone all out with creating new traditions, and a trip to a Christmas market was not going to be missed off the list.

This isn’t the closest market to us, but it seemed that nobody had a bad thing to say about Bath. And it’s Christmas market was one of the top ten according to Google. It took an absolute lifetime to get there, let alone park, as 99% of England’s population seemed to want to go to Bath that day. But with four hours to cram in as much as possible, we fueled ourselves with a Nandos (standard) and made our way into the chaos.

Everything from the market itself, to the gigantic sparkling tree, to the decorated architecture in Bath made it the perfect Christmas market destination. There were even choirs singing through the streets, which made it feel even more magical.

It was crazy busy in Bath, but this was the perfect Christmas market trip ahead of Christmas, and with the big day closing in it’s fair to say that I’m now beginning to get pretty excited about it all (especially as my birthday and NYE follows soon after!). Roll on the festivities, prosecco and excessive amounts of yule log.

Have you got any plans to visit a Christmas market this year? Let me know about any others I should add to my bucket list!
