On my 2017 trip to Mexico, I based myself in Akumal but spent some time exploring Quintana Roo and Yucatan. This included visits to Tulum and Valladolid – both of which offered such different sights, but were both incredible!
Mexico is still one of my favourite trips to date. It’s a beautiful country, their food is out of this world and the tropical weather is a warm welcome after a long flight. What’s not to love?
I had a lot of fun snapping photos on this trip – so I’ve put together some of my favourite shots to give you a taste of Mexico’s landscapes, culture and wildlife.
Sunrises and sunsets:
There were gorgeous sunrises and sunsets in Mexico almost daily, which reflected beautifully over the ocean and created a silhouette of the palm trees.
We enjoyed many beach days in Mexico, travelling between Tulum and Akumal. Lined with palm trees, dropping coconuts and turquoise waters – their beaches really are unbelievable.
Here is some of the wildlife spotted between Akumal and Tulum during our time in Mexico. There was so much to see, but there were often too quick to capture.
The colours and patterns from a day trip to the Yucatan, featuring the colourful town of Valladolid and the famous Chichén Itzá ruins.
Mexico is truly the most beautiful place to explore and photograph. I can’t wait to one day so back and explore more of this part of the world!
