It feels like a lifetime ago that I was zipping around the Greek island of Zakynthos on a quad bike, dipping my toes in the sand and soaking up the sun between the storms, of which there were many.

You may know this island by the name of Zante instead – seeing as Laganas is a well known party spot – but I want to show you that there’s far more to a holiday in Zakynthos than sticky bars and cocktail pitchers the size of your head.

Keep reading to see some of my favourite photos from a week in Zakynthos.

We stayed at the Atlantica Eleon Grand Resort, which sits on the north east of Zakynthos just above Tsilivi.

Home to beautiful infinity pools, a doorstep beach and a spa, it was the perfect place to spend a week in Zakynthos. An all-inclusive holiday package also meant many, many iced coffees.

The Atlantica Eleon Grand Resort was also home to many cats, who roamed the terraces as you were dining on breakfast, lunch and dinner. Clearly I made friends with a few.

Beaches:

Turquoise lagoon at Porto Vromi in Zakynthos Greece

Zakynthos boasts some truly incredible, crystal clear beaches. The first was at our hotel, the second overlooks the distant Greek island of Kefalonia and the third is a breathtaking cove leading down to Porto Vromi on the west coast.

We spent one day in Zakynthos zooming up and down the mountainous terrain on a quad bike that lacked massively in power, with a goal was of reaching the viewpoint of Navagio Beach (also known as Shipwreck Beach).

The breakdowns and wrong turns were worth it for the plunging views of turquoise waters and tree-topped cliffs.

Plantlife:

Lastly, one of my favourite things to photograph is plantlife, and lucky for me there were plenty of blooming flowers, olive trees and lush plants at the Atlantica Eleon Grand Resort.

It’s only Monday but I’m already looking forwa It’s only Monday but I’m already looking forward to coffee and breakfast in bed at the weekend. Keeping little luxuries like those to Saturdays and Sundays massively helps to maintain my morning routine Monday to Friday. We used to have the busiest weekends pre covid — I’m not sure I want to give the quiet ones up once lockdown ends if I’m honest! ☕️
Sleep, workout, coffee, eat, repeat ☕️ Honestl Sleep, workout, coffee, eat, repeat ☕️ Honestly struggling to believe we’re already coming to the end of January. What is normal life again?
We’re only a couple of weeks in but the start of We’re only a couple of weeks in but the start of 2021 has been a shambles. Darryl breaking his collarbone at 6pm on New Year’s Eve, being put into another national lockdown, friends getting sick and losing my nan very suddenly has been a tough first chapter of a new year. I never could have imagined a world where you lose a family member but can’t even see and hug your family to get through it. Life has been so tough for everyone for so long now but we’ve got to try and stay positive in dark times. Now I’m putting all my energy into wedding planning, catching up with family as often as I can and enjoying the little things that make me smile, like this crazy cat of mine. Sending a big hug to anyone going through difficult times of their own — it will get better. ❤️

Choosing somewhere when you want to go *everywhere* is a bit of a challenge but we both wanted something that was total relaxation for a change.

After months weighing up options we’ve booked ourselves a beachy break in the beautiful Maldives with @turquoiseholidays 🇲🇻🌴🐠

I’m praying that this pandemic is over by then and it’s safe to travel. But worst case — we’re super organised for a honeymoon in 2022.

P.s huge thanks to @thestayoverlife for allllll the incredible Maldives honeymoon inspo and advice!

As someone who always tries to get away on their b As someone who always tries to get away on their birthday I never imagined spending the whole day at home. But a combination of prosecco, gin making, great food, conversations with family / friends and watching movies with my fiancé made it one of the best yet. Just one day later I’m deep cleaning the house (again) and waiting for tomorrow to see in the new year from the comfort of my sofa. I’m so ready for a new start — but the kind where our lives aren’t entirely controlled by a virus. So when that day comes I’ll celebrate! 🥂
