Did you know I am a Brand Ambassador for TruTravels?

Ever since I discovered them and experienced my first group tour in Sri Lanka, I’ve loved the company and what they stand for, which is life-changing experiences, good vibes and memories that will stay with you forever.

Better still, they plant 20-60 trees for every booking to ensure they’re doing their bit for our planet!

I’m delighted to support a brand which helps people to see the world and make connections with like-minded travellers, and it’s an understatement to say that I’m itching to go on my next tour with them!

To be fully transparent, being a Brand Ambassador means that if you book a TruTravels tour via my links I will earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. But YOU get free tour merch if you book via my links too! Thank you for your support of content creators like me.

The TruTravels Tours:

TruTravels launched in 2012 and currently offer over 30 tours in 15 countries across 3 continents. The tours vary in length to suit everyone from the 9-5 worker to the gap year explorer, and include all accommodation, most meals and most activities. All you need to do is book your tour, book your flights and take some spending money!

In 2021, TruTravels released three brand-new tour types alongside their longstanding Classic tours: Fitventures for the fitness enthusiast (think beach yoga and surfing), Flashpacker for those who like premium accommodation, and Sailventures for those who love the cruise life.

The best bit is that the tours are run by local and knowledgeable guides (aka Tour Ninjas), who are very much a part of the TruTravels family. Our guide in Sri Lanka, Wajira, was the nicest guy and made it the experience that it was.

These aren’t luxury all-inclusive tours, but they’re wholesome and adventure-packed experiences for people who don’t want to break the bank. They also often have deals on, sometimes offering up to 40% off a tour!

My experience with TruTravels:

I booked myself onto the TruTravels Sri Lanka Uncovered Tour in September 2019. It was my first experience on any group tour and wow, what an incredible 10 days!

I was apprehensive about trying something so different, especially as I’m a massive introvert, but I can honestly say that trip has been my favourite one to date.

Our guest room is becoming a (not so) fun game of Our guest room is becoming a (not so) fun game of how many times can you change a room... 🏡 Now we’ve got rid of the sofa bed that we impulse bought and I never really loved, we’ve got the space to add a proper bed, but then we lose a ton of storage space. Decisions decisions. Interior design is not my calling and honestly I’d love someone to just tell me how to style the room because new builds do not have massive spaces to work with 🙈

Seriously hoping for a warm spring and a hot summe Seriously hoping for a warm spring and a hot summer in 2021! Last year might have been mostly spent in lockdown (excluding a few short adventures like this trip to York) but I was out in the garden as much as possible. Coffee and breakfast at weekends, cocktails and bbqs on week nights 👌🏼⛅️☕️
The cringiest photo I’ve ever asked Darryl to ta The cringiest photo I’ve ever asked Darryl to take? Absolutely. But this was the day we got engaged so it’s very relevant to today’s blog post, which is all about what we’re not doing at our wedding. We’re both here for some traditions, but others, hell no! Click the link in my bio to read (and thanks to everyone who has so far, it’s been my most read post for a while) 💍
Sign me up for a summer of roaming a city in searc Sign me up for a summer of roaming a city in search of gelato 🍧 It’s been a hot minute since we had a holiday in a warm climate, so yesterday we booked July flights to Athens for a long weekend of gyros, exploring and rooftop bars. Let’s hope ‘rona doesn’t stop this one!
My dream trip to Morocco was cancelled this week ( My dream trip to Morocco was cancelled this week (cry) so we now have about £200 in easyJet flight vouchers. How long do we reckon it’ll be before I book something? I’m giving myself a couple of days tops. Going to spend another evening browsing warm European breaks as our last four trips have been cold (yes Devon that includes you even though it was in August). Malta Greece Spain & Italy are our top choices right now, any recommendations?! 🌞
Breaking up the travel feed with a dose of reality Breaking up the travel feed with a dose of reality which is a glass of wine in my usual evening spot. I imagine our next trip abroad will be cancelled so travel content might be a bit sparse this year until our honeymoon (which I’m praying we still get to go on). Might share more home stuff, might share more life stuff. But for now all I’ve got is a chilled Pinot Grigio with a view of a Berber rug, happy Friday folks 😂
High above the clouds in Sri Lanka ☁️ Tonight High above the clouds in Sri Lanka ☁️ Tonight (and this week in general) is all about wedding planning. I’m on a roll with things and I’m afraid to stop in case I hit a wall again. Next on the to do list is sorting out the venue decor and I don’t have a clue where to start! We’re happy to spend money on things people can actually benefit from but making things look pretty is a cost I’m not enjoying so far. Then the hunt for bridesmaids dresses begins as soon as shops open. Any tips are welcome!
Today marks one year since we flew to Slovenia! We Today marks one year since we flew to Slovenia! We spent three full days exploring Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj & Ljubljana. Covid was just becoming a thing in Europe and honestly we had no idea what was coming! Our evenings in Lake Bled were quiet and at times it felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Maybe because it wasn’t peak tourism season or maybe because people knew what was coming (clearly we didn’t). This place holds a special place in my heart even more so because it was our last trip abroad before life got crazy. If you get the chance to go once this is all over, do it! Slovenia is an incredible country 🇸🇮
ad I’m diving back into the Iceland archives tod ad I’m diving back into the Iceland archives today as it’s been two whole years since we took a flight north to explore this beautiful country for four days! This photo was snapped on an excursion with @reykjavikexcursions which took us over to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lake. What an experience that was. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life! You can see plenty more from Iceland on my blog 🇮🇸 (gifted excursion) #VisitIceland #ReykjavikExcursions
